SORCERESS POWER

Rinoa possesses the power of sorceresses/witches. This is a power that attaches itself to a woman and stays with her for the duration of her entire life. When she is about to die, she is able to pass the power on to another potential sorceress, as long as the potential recipient is somewhere physically near.

As a sorceress, the inheritor of Edea and Adel's power, Rinoa is able to use magic naturally. In the Void, she can use this ability to perform basic elemental magic, as well as communicate telepathically. This is in contrast to normal humans, who are only able to use para-magic (pseudo magic), energy that was created to replicate the magic of sorceresses. Some types of sorceress magic are unable to be mimicked through para-magic however; sorceresses are shown to be capable of telekinesis, telepathy, teleportation, possession and mind control, elemental control, barrier creation, phasing, and the ability to bring inanimate objects to life.

Evidence suggests that each sorceress has a particular strength in her magic usage; in Rinoa's case this is described as "primal magic", as evidenced by the berserker status her Angel Wing limit break places her under, and her ability to revive people who are close to death, as she does with both Seifer and Squall at different times. In addition to this capability with revival magic, Rinoa in particular has been seen to use teleportation magic, transfiguration magic, and telepathy.

When using her powers, Rinoa manifests physical angelic wings that allow her to hover in the air.

Angelo is a highly intelligent dog who has learned a number of tricks and skills in order to assist Rinoa in battle. As such, Rinoa tends to refer to her as her "partner" rather than her "pet". Angelo can act on her own or on Rinoa's command, and will only execute some of her abilities under certain circumstances, although others can be performed at any time.
